There is no doubt about Uganda being the the ‘Pearl of Africa’ for its geographical,scenic,environment and nature, Uganda is indeed the beauty of the Continent,the people and the great wildlife found in the land makes Uganda a unique State.However what doesn’t fit into this perfect description of Uganda are the poor living standards of people living in the slums.
Many Ugandans are living below the poverty lines with absolutely nothing to eat,no clothes to wear while others are living on streets of the main towns and cities in the trenches,others in the nasty slums, anyway, there has never been any good slum,obviously when you hear of a slum,its a slum,no life at-all.it’s just disgusting,no one deserves to live there.
i know by now you are wondering what really a slum is? A slum is an over populated urban informal settlement characterized by housing under the standards,poor water and sanitation systems, Slum communities are defined by poverty, low income, miserable living conditions and sub-standard facilities.overcrowded houses with cracked walls, dirty rooms and frequently linking roofs. Unfortunately, such a house is a place that someone calls a home.

There are several slums in Kampala City,almost Kampala CBD is surrounded by slums. we have a number of slums based organizations trying to work in these slums but with mostly Children and women. WHITEHEADADVENTUREAFRICA. we take you around every slum on a Tours would you wish to visit and associate with the African children and women, we welcome you to a tour in Kampala, the the city with many slums in East-Africa. Our guides are born and living in these Slums and they would like to show you the daily life in their ‘city of hope’. See the ways the people of in these slums improve their lives. What you will expect to see on your visit.

  • Orphanage/and music schools built by several people around the world who first visit to these slums’. you will Meet these impressive people whose main job is to guide and look at their work in the children homes/school center.
  • Several Craft workshops,carpentry and other art-works in Kampala, almost everything here is being reused and so are also the bones from the butcher. See how these bones turn into beads;straws into mats a lot is just amazing here.
  • The typical slum houses,hey feel free to enter any once you are welcome in any of the houses,the locals are friendly and they will ask you enter,ask you many questions about,your country,where you live and where you’re going after here.
  • The art centers are a fantastic,you will see see that also human waste is not wasted here,as some use it for bio-gas and fertilizers several small shops,bars,and restaurants run by women,simple wooded fruit market, welcome to yet another amazing tour beyond wild

Note: by accepting to visit these slums,you are directly supporting the vulnerable women and children living in these slums.every dollar/pound/Euro/shillings you pay to WHITEHEADADVENTUREAFRICA,to visit these slums,a 20% is off your payment and will automatically go direct to support some of the women initiatives/projects and paying school fees for the children in these slums to get good education.the tour also provides employment as there are small groups paid to entertain you since the tour might be a little more traumatizing having looked at the an-usual challenges of your life.

Our Itinerary.

  • Departure from Hotel
  • Our tour will start well but get ready to do some stretching since there will include some walking,jumping and crossing poor roads with noisy Children and Funny youth who are some times under the influence of drugs/alcohol etc chanting Mzungu(white) but friendly not dangerous..
  • We can actually organize for you a night in either of these slums away from your hotel but this is done at an extra negotiated cost (depending on the number days/people and what you want to be included.
  • The tour starts/begin in the morning and some times in the afternoon and It will takes about 3 to 4 hours, including a 1-2 hour walk of greeting and shaking hands with the children.
  • Un-like other Companies that will want to join the tour in a small groups of max. 10 persons even more,we can take you alone we don’t have to wait for other tourists.
  • Our guides and safety guards are very well-known in these slums and others are even born and living here;
